Scheduling
Two days of competition are required for this Sport. Heats will be fifteen (15) minutes with a minimum 5-10 minute extensions as necessary to allow for sufficient catchable waves.
Scoring
Best three (3) rides of all the waves caught during the heat. The judges will score each ride from 1-10 or 1-20 points. The judging criteria shall be: "The surfer who executes the most radical maneuvers in a functional and stylish manner in the critical sections of the biggest wave for the longest distance will receive the highest score."
General Sport Rules for Surfing
Competitor Equipment:
Long (Malibu) Board is a minimum nine feet (9').
Short Board is less than two feet (2') above the competitor's measured height.
Knee Board shall not exceed five feet (5') in overall length, designed specifically to be kneeled on only.
Body (Boogie) Board will have the following attributes: 1) shall not exceed five feet (5’) in overall length; 2) shall be flexible and include some portion of soft exterior skin. The use of fins (flipper) is optional.
Wave Ski is a surfboard craft, no longer than twelve feet (12’) in length, with seating provision and/or harness, propelled by a double-ended paddle.
